Vagan Abgaryan


is a Partner at Baring Vostok Capital Partners. Joined the team in August 2009. Vagan has been working for Alfa Bank for 12 years, the last 6 years as a Head of Asset Management, he also headed up Investment Committee of Alfa Bank, and was directly responsible for a wide range of investments. One of those was CTC Media, where BVCP worked closely and successfully with him over several years. Vagan left Alfa in 2008 and worked for one year at X5 Retail Group N.V. as Chairman of the Board of X5 Development and Advisor to CEO of the group. Prior to Alfa, Vagan worked for Ernst & Young as an auditor. He graduated from the State Academy of Management, faculty of International Economic Relationships.

Jean Michel Broun


is a Partner at Baring Vostok Capital Partners. He joined the company in November 1997. He has participated as a member of the Board of Directors of ten Baring Vostok Funds' portfolio companies. Before joining BVCP, between 1991 and 1997, Jean Michel founded and managed two commercial enterprises engaged in the distribution of food and electrical goods in Moscow. Prior to 1991, he worked for Bain & Company for six years in London, Paris and Moscow. Jean Michel has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School of Business and a Master’s Degree in Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he received an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers in Paris.

Andrey Costyashkin


is a Partner and COO of Baring Vostok Capital Partners. Andrey coordinates search and evaluation of new projects, organizes investment process, ensures that all operations are compliant to BPEI standards. Before joining Baring Vostok in 1999, Andrey worked as Director of the Research Department at the investment company Alfa Capital.

Mikhail Ivanov


is a Partner and Director of Oil and Gas Projects at Baring Vostok Capital Partners. Mr. Ivanov brings with him a long history of invovlement in the oil sector. Mikhail worked for over ten years at Shlumberger, an international oil services company, where he served as head of its Iran operations and was responsible for business development in Russia. Prior to joining Shlumberger, he founded and headed two companies that focused on oil production and service. Mikhail has an MBA specializing in finance, strategy and marketing, from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and he received a Master's degree in Geology and Geophysics at the at Novosibirsk State University.

Gabbas Kazhimuratov


is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Baring Vostok Capital Partners. He works directly with the Chief Financial Officers of Fund's portfolio companies with the aim of creating high-quality budgeting and financial reporting systems. Gabbas ensures that Baring Vostok is managed according to the highest international requirements and adheres to best-practice internal financial and administrative procedures. Previously, Gabbas was the financial controller for Coca-Cola in Russia. He graduated with honors from the St. Petersburg University of Economics & Finance with a Master’s Degree in International Economics. Gabbas is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).

Anatoly Karyakin


is a Partner at Baring Vostok Capital Partners. He is responsible for security issues and provides critical support to Fund's portfolio companies in creating effective security systems. He is a retired colonel in one of Russia’s special services, whose work included ensuring the security of the Russian president and other senior officials. His work includes vetting potential projects in order to mitigate investment risks and prevent potential conflicts.

Michael Lomtadze


is a Partner at Baring Vostok Capital Partners responsible for investments in the financial services sector. Michael came to Baring Vostok in June 2002 and is currently a member of the board of directors of three Fund portfolio companies. Prior to joining Baring Vostok, he founded and headed GCG Audit, a leading consulting firm in Georgia (which was acquired by Ernst & Young in 2002). As the head of GCG Audit, Michael provided consulting services to Western investors covering finance and strategy in such industries as energy, telecommunications, transport and financial services. He holds an MBA from the Harvard School of Business.

Holly Nielsen


is a Partner and Head Legal Consultant of Baring Vostok Capital Partners. She joined the team at Baring Vostok Capital Partners in 2006 after more than six years of joint work on various projects as external legal counsel. Holly has over 20 years of experience in corporate and finance law, including more than 12 years living and working in Moscow. From 1992 until 2006 she was a partner in the Moscow representative office of Baker Botts (1992 until 1994), Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy (1997 until 2000) and Debevoise & Plimpton (2001 until 2006). As part of a Harvard University project, Holly worked as a senior advisor to the Chairman of the Russian Securities Commission from 1995 until 1997. In addition, she has taken part in the creation of the first Russian investment fund in 1994. Over the past nine years, Holly Nielsen has taken part in a number of large mergers and acquisitions deals in the Russian securities markets.
